Two bowls of MANTI Turkish dumplings with yoghurt and Aleppo-spiced browned butter, served at the restaurant

The Dish

What is
mantı?

Think dumplings. Turkish style.

Mantı is one of Turkey's most beloved comfort foods: tiny parcels of dough, filled, boiled tender, and finished with garlic yoghurt, Aleppo-spiced browned butter and dried mint.

Small in size. Serious in comfort.

Every bite carries centuries of tradition — adapted, refined and served in the heart of Cape Town.

The anatomy of MANTI — garlic yoghurt, dried mint, paprika butter and tiny handmade dumplings

Our Story

Two Turks.
One shared obsession.

Cansu Elter and Evren Tortum share a love for food, hospitality and one very specific comfort food: mantı.

In a city filled with incredible food from around the world, they saw an opportunity to introduce Cape Town to one of Turkey's most loved dishes.

Not a traditional Turkish restaurant trying to serve everything. Not another generic dumpling spot.

Just mantı. Made properly, served generously — and brought into a modern Cape Town setting.

In Turkey, every meal ends with tea. We're working on the view. The tea is here now. — MANTI
